To welcome the school year, the Cardinals Class learned about themselves and their families.
Their favorite story for the week was A Porcupine named Fluffy. This started the discussion about their names as a way for them to know one another. They enjoyed listening to the comical adventures of fluffy as he attempts to find out why he was named that way.
To start of the discussion about families, the story What Mommies Do Best/ What Daddies Do Best (a back to back book) is also a great start for our discussion about families.
Other activities done in class were my own porcupine, self- portrait, family train, family members bar graph, and letter to mommy and daddy.
The first week was surely a sign of the exciting activities and great relationships to come!
